Todd brings high energy and enthusiasm to his team. He just finished up his high school basketball career at Tiffin Columbian. He played all 4 years of varsity basketball and 6 years of AAU basketball. He holds the record for most career games played at Tiffin Columbian and was a two-time captain in both football and basketball. Todd will be attending Tiffin University next year on a football scholarship. His hard work and dedication he brings to the table in football and basketball he will take to coaching. He’s worked with the youth his whole life. He’s coached at multiple youth basketball and football camps. He plans to study sports Management in college. Todd’s offers a fundamental approach when teaching the game of basketball, and believes athletes will achieve future success with this knowledge and solid foundation of the game.
Wes brings a fundamental approach when teaching the game of basketball, and believes athletes will achieve future success with this knowledge and solid foundation of the game. Wes has coached competitive basketball and baseball in leagues across Mid-Ohio for the last 6 years with a desire to develop youth athletes. Wes was an athlete for the Shelby Whippets in the mid 90’s during his athletic career, and after college he wanted to give back to his community by bringing his knowledge of sports back to his home town with a desire to develop youth athletes in Shelby. Coach Mahon also founded the travel basketball team called the Shelby Hounds in 2013, and now has four active teams running under the name at different age levels and genders competing in local school leagues across Mid-Ohio with the purpose of developing future Shelby Whippet athletes. Coach Mahon is in his second year with the Best of the Best organization, and is returning seven players from a very successful 2017 season where the team won all four tournaments they entered. Coach Mahon also enjoys that the AAU circuit provides more opportunity to help teach the great game of basketball to the youth of Ohio.

Keith brings a great background of coaching youth basketball and believes that learning at a young age makes great ball players. With eleven years of working in recreation Keith has seen many young athletes grow into collegiate players. Keith played high school basketball at Monroeville and then played as a walk-on player for the University of Findlay. After college Keith has experienced the professional level as an intern in what was the D-League, coached at the varsity, junior high, and youth levels. This will be Jesse’s first year as a coach with Best of the Best Basketball and hopes to bring great experience and knowledge to his players.
Coach Kinder has experience in competitive sports and covers 25 years of his life as a player & coach. His passion for that higher level of play and the sheer love of the game fuels his dedication to the multiple youth teams he has coached from Jr High Football / AAU Basketball / Travel Tournament Baseball. He was blessed to play for 2 West Virginia Hall of Fame coaches with honors earned All-Conference LKC in all sports, 1st Team All State Football and a State Championship 1991 AA Football which lead to his collegiate career at Glenville State College under Rich Rodriguez. This is the first year coaching with Best of the Best - 3rd year as an AAU coach - 2 pervious years Lake Erie Snipers 34-11 record with (2)1st, (3) 2nd & made all but one semi-final in 10 tournaments. He will bring an intense love of the game with first-hand knowledge of what it takes to compete with the Best of the Best. It is how you play the game that matters and that is with a heart of a champion.
Coach Miller brings over twenty years of basketball coaching experience to his team. He is a devoted family man that enjoys teaching game strategy and situational basketball. Coach Miller has coached teams of all ages including 9 years at the Junior High level and 3 years at the High School level. Coach Miller’s coaching philosophy is a Team First and effort driven model. He helps players understand their strengths and improve their weakness is how he likes to approach player development. He allows players to play too their strength and still grow into the game as young, developing basketball players. Coach Miller has enjoyed sharing his love and knowledge of the game with those players he has coached over the past two decades. Of the first twelve young men he ever had the pleasure of coaching back in the winter of 1995….seven went on to coach school sports, six were basketball coaches. His most important role as a coach is to make sure his players are developing into great young men who know, love, and respect the game.
Coach Garnes brings over thirty-three years of coaching experience to his team. He enjoys coaching and mentoring through his role as a coach. Coach Garnes has coached basketball ages Junior High to College. Coach Garnes has been involved in athletic leadership at Van Lou High School, Bluffton College, Cardington High School, Marion Harding and most recently Hopewell Loudon High School. His most recent stand out accomplishment was coaching the 2016-2017 Hopewell Loudon Freshman team to undefeated season. The team record of 23-0 reflected the dedication of the players and the love of the game that Coach Garnes tries to share with his team. Coach Garnes is also an official for OHSAA, NAIA and NCAA. He loves coaching and watching basketball. The High School tournament and the NCAA tournament are two of his favorite past times. Coach Garnes is looking forward to his fourth season with Best of the Best Basketball and coaching the 8th grade team.
